Shitsugei Panel(漆芸パネル)/ Kaga / Ishikawa

Decorated with Silver wearing silk threads and Raden (sea shell flake)

Shitsugei Panel uses silk threads from Nishijin Ori (Kimono textile fabricated in Kyoto) wearing gold or silver leaf. Combined with traditional lacquer coating technology in Ishikawa Prefecture, Shitsugei Panel demonstrates mirror like finish by the original coating process and polishing skills by the experienced craftsmen. Base plate is MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard).

Threads placing process is done by craftsman and the design differs plate by plate.

– The coating material is durable against 7H pencil.

Material description
– Base plate is made of MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard/fabricated wooden
chips)
– Silver or gold silk leaf combined threads from Nishijin Ori are used.
– UV curable coating material is applied and polished multiple times to create
superior mirror finish.
– The surface hardness of the coating is equivalent to 7H pencil for scratches.
– Upon request and application, base plate dimensions can be customized.
– As the thread is placed one by one by craftsmen, the finished appearance can be
different panel by panel.
– The panels have been delivered to major restaurant chains in Japan and Sushi bars in Southeast Asia.
– Service temperature : -20℃~+80℃ (Celsius)
– Not applicable for dishwasher
